There’s multiple ways to install complete home audio into your home. Some homes offer the aesthetics to be creative with both freestanding equipment as well as hidden audio accessories. Others prefer to have all their components as hidden as possible.

The most popular choice at this moment in audio design would be the hidden solutions. Loudspeakers completely hidden inside walls, recessed into ceilings and even installed into walls and covered by wall filler and paint. All if this is possible and you don’t have to fork out the big numbers, pricing of complete home audio solutions has dropped significantly.

Previously prospects were instructed to opt for a “Multi-room audio system” that could become costly not only on product but on labour & installation fees as well.

Times have changed. You can now drive 4-6 audio “zones” (areas within the house; Dining room, bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom etc.) without much labour hassle and without the heavy price tag.

This kind of approach to “Multi-room audio” has become significantly  more popular and is very stable from a technology point of view.

Systems like this primarily consist out of one or two primary amplifiers/receivers (to drive the power of the system) and is then divided into different zones using a volume controlled impediance matching speaker selector switch and combined with multiple in-line volume controllers so that one has the freedom to control the volume in different zones/rooms. You can go one step further and include multiple IR(infrared) sender/receiver sets. This will enable you to change the video and audio selection in a any room without the hassle of walking back to the primary/distribution point in your home. You will then be able to select songs on your iPod, select channels on your TV, play/pause/skip/rewind your DVD/Blu-Ray player and so on.
